Tara Nome Doyle is a 27-year old singer-songwriter with Norwegian-Irish roots based in Berlin. TND’s middle name, Nome, is pronounced »Noo-Meh« in Norwegian and »No-me« in English.
Her first single »Down with You« was released in 2018 and has since been streamed over 6 million times. In 2020, TND put out her conceptual debut album »Alchemy«, co-produced by TND and David Specht (Isolation Berlin), which was celebrated by the German press (»… like Kate Bush singing songs by Nick Cave at Berghain«, SPIEGEL). Her sophomore record »Værmin« (2022, BMG Recordings), produced by Grammy-award winning musician and engineer Simon Goff, garnered international praise from outlets like FAZ (»..Germany has a new star«), Wonderland Magazine, CLASH, SPIEGEL, Vogue Japan, NRK, Irish Times and Hot Press.
Tara Nome Doyle's latest, self-produced EP »Agape« (2024) marks her return to the music scene after a two-year hiatus.
»Agape« is a profoundly intimate collection of songs documenting TND's emotional journey through grief, commemorating the passing of a loved one.
Currently, she is working on finishing her third record, which is set to be released in mid 2025.
TND likes to collaborate: In July 2021 the EP »The Moments We Keep«, which she co-wrote and co-produced with the Italian pianist Federico Albanese, came out on Decca’s/Universal’s imprint Mercury KX. In late 2020 TND released recordings with Malakoff Kowalski (»Bad Dreams«) and 1k Flowers (»Clemency«). TND has also collaborated with Max Rieger (Die Nerven; producer of e.g. Caspar and Drangsal) – on »Neon Woods« (first album) and »Caterpillar« (second album).
Her album »Værmin« saw re-works from the likes of Craig Armstrong (Romeo & Juliet, Love Actually), Meredi & Lisa Morgenstern and together with arranger and composer Viktor Orri Árnason (Ólafur Arnalds, Björk) and the string ensemble Echo Collective (Johann Johannsson, Erasure) TND created string versions of several »Værmin« tracks.
TND is a member of Kat Frankie's »B O D I E S« choir and has recently formed a new band project with Erol Sarp (Grandbrothers).
In October ’21 the Netflix-USA production »Munich« by director Christian Schwochow, starring Jeremy Irons, premiered at the London Film Festival. In the film, which will also see a theatrical release in North America, the UK, Germany and Spain in January ’22, TND can be seen performing an original song she co-wrote with Isobel Waller-Bridge (»Fleabag«, »Emma«) specifically for the scene, singing in German for the first time. Another collaboration with Waller-Bridge (this time in Norwegian) will be featured in the series »Three Women«, based on Lisa Taddeo’s bestselling book, to be released in September ‘24.
TND’S »Too Lost To Be Found«, co-written with Federico Albanese, was picked up by HBO for their series »Generation« and premiered in July ’21.
A commissioned choir piece, as well as a cover version of »Can’t help falling in love« and a remix of her song »Caterpillar« can be heard in Sonja Heiss’ cinema release »Wann wird es endlich wieder so, wie es nie war« (2023).
